AO Smith has a complicated story. Their older units (15-20+ years) were exceptional and many are still running strong. However, we've seen significant quality control issues with newer models, especially from big box stores. The professional-grade units are still decent, but their warranty service has become increasingly difficult to work with. We install them when specifically requested, but always set realistic expectations.
